Our Story
O’Donnell’s Bakery was established in 1969 by the O’Donnell family. The bakery was based in Ballyshannon until 2005 when the bakery relocated to the beautiful countryside just outside Laghey village in County Donegal and we have been here ever since enjoying the view of green fields around us.
In 2011 Andrew and Kathleen McElhinney purchased O’Donnell’s Bakery and they now run the business with the help of their two daughters. We are a family led business with all decision making done between the four of us.
Our products are made using high quality ingredients with many of the ingredients sourced from Ireland and the UK. We bake delicious wheaten breads, scones, fresh rolls and buns and a range of indulgent cakes and queen cakes under our Donegal Bakehouse range.
We supply hotels, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and even your local corner shop in Donegal, Cavan, Monaghan, Derry, Tyrone, Fermanagh, Antrim, Armagh, Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo, Roscommon and Galway. We also supply all Aldi Ireland Stores with our famous wheaten bread. You can even find a selection of products in the USA through Food Ireland.
Our bakery team is excellent, we have a mix of all ages and people from many different backgrounds. We take pride in every product that we make and the team is committed to supplying high quality products and working hard to ensure our customers get their daily fix of O’Donnell’s products.
